daeron_2019Daeron of Doriath was born to a noble family from Menegroth. He was a minstrel and loremaster in King Thingol's Court. He attended the Mered Aderthad along with Mablung, as special envoys from their king. He met King Fingolfin, and his son Fingon. He also met Maglor and Maedhrs, though he made friends with the younger brother.
He was in love with Lúthien, who was his constant companion until she fell in love with Beren. Daeron betrayed her trust when he warned Thingol that he was going to escape with her beloved. Once she left Menegroth, he left too, in search of her. The pain of losing her made him lose his mind, and nobody knew of him until he resurfaced in the Third Age and met Maglor again.
